Clarke County High School's Ottis Jackson was voted 3A Lineman of the Year. He received the award in BirminghamTuesday,December I I at the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) ceremony. Ottis was one of 75 players from across the state nominated for the award.

Jackson blocked for, not one, but two one thousand yard backs in Kenneth Kimbrough and Tim Barnett. He has also served as team captain and helped lead the Bulldogs to an undefeated (10-0) regular season.

Jackson is the second player from Clarke County High School to receive the award, current University of Alabama lineman B.J. Stabler was the first.

Ottis Jackson is not only an outstanding football player, he is also an amazing person. He is one of those genuine people that you rarely come across. He is always upbeat, honest and hardworking. Ottis is always around to lend a helping hand, no matter the problem.

Apart from football, Ottis is the Senior Class President, FBLA parliamentarian, and first runner-up for Mr. CCHS.

I have known Ottis since elementary school and ever since that time he has always been involved, athletic and concerned about others. Ottis is a great role model and a great friend.

From everyone at CCHS: Thank you, Ottis, for everything you do and congratulations on receiving this prestigious honor.
