King

George King Jr., 82, of Jackson died Dec. 25, 2007 at Jackson Medical Center.

He was born May 6, 1925. He was born to the parentage of the late George King Sr. and Ollie Lee King. He retired as a bridge builder. He received Christ while a patient at Jackson Medical Center at which time he joined Mt. Olive #2 Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Dean King, Jackson; three sons, Cecil (Ruthie Mae) King Sr., Jackson, Conrad (Doris) King, Columbus, Ga., Earvin King, Daleville; seven daughters, Emma (Randy) Brown, Claressa (Johnny) Hamilton, Bettye (Chester Wade) Tiggs, Yvonne King, Sharon (Antonio Sr.) Crayton, all of Jackson, Nettie King, Carrie (Clarence) Quaites, all of Mobile; one Goddaughter, Deloise (Rob) Cross, Chester, Va.; 30 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deloise K. Jackson, three brothers, Woodrow Thomas, Roosevelt King and Bobby King Sr. and two sisters, Eddie Ree Martin and Rose Nell Pugh.

Active pallbearers were his grandsons.

The service was Dec. 29 at 12 p.m. at the Jackson Street Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Purifoy officiating. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
