Gilmore Ginger V. Dunigan Gilmore, 88, of Salitpa died Dec. 23, 2007. She was born Sept. 25, 1919. She was born to the late James and Daisy Dunigan. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Cedar Point Baptist Church of Coffeeville. She was united in marriage to Emmitt Gilmore in 1943 and joined the St. Paul Baptist Church-Salitpa where she was faithful and dedicated servant until her demise. She was a retired educator with over 40 years of service to the Clarke County Board of Education; Alumni of Alabama State University (formerly Alabama State College), member of the Alabama Education Retiree Association, devoted Sunday school teacher - St. Paul vice-president of the Women's Auxiliary-Bladon Springs Association - Instructor in the Bladon Springs Congress of Christian Education, member of Clarke County Voter's League, Registrar for the Clarke County Board of Registrars, member of the Alabama Democratic Conference. Survivors include her husband, Emmitt Gilmore, Salitpa; three sons, James (Annie) Gilmore, Salitpa, George (Mary) Gilmore, Jessie (Hazel) Gilmore, Coffeeville; one daughter, Emmie J. (Pervis) Calhoun, Zimco; three adopted children, Barbara Gilmore, Huntsville, Marcus (Kanitra) Gilmore, Salitpa, Derrick (Jawanika) Gilmore, Coffeeville; 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild, nephews, nieces and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie W. Gilmore, her sister, Vessie Thompson, two brothers, James Dunigan Jr. and Columbus Dunigan Sr. and one sister, Vessie Thompson.
The service was Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church in Salitpa. Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery in Salitpa. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
