Fikes

Mary Louise Norris "Lil" Fikes, 85, of Dixons Mills died Dec. 24, 2007.

She was born Jan. 11, 1922. For many years she enjoyed her work at the Dixons Mills Post Office and she served devotedly for many years as the clerk of the Dixons Mills Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Thomas G. Norris Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie G. Fikes, her father, Thomas G. Norris, her mother, Frances J. Norris, her brothers, J.B. Norris, Franklin M. Norris and Billy B. Norris and her sisters, Alice N. Hutto, Virginia N. Hayes and Frances N. Combest.

The service was Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at Dixons Mills Baptist Church. Burial was in the Dunning Cemetery in Dixons Mills. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directed.

Active pallbearers were Bill Bilbrey, Jimmie Dixon, Steve Glass, James Dixon, Bobby Norris and Tommy Combest.

Mrs. Fikes' family expresses their deep appreciation for the loving care that she received from everyone at the Marengo Nursing Home.
