Pace's Lindsey named Coach of the Year

Pace High School Coach Mickey Lindsey.
Whatley native Mickey Lindsey has been named Coach of the Year by the Pensacola News Journal for his team's success this season.

Lindsey, in his 17th season as the head coach for the Pace, FLPatriots, led his team to the state semi-finals before they lost 49-48 in four overtimes to Ponte Vedra Beach.

The Patriots have a 146-49 record with Lindsey at the helm and have had four regular season perfect records.

He is the son of David and the late Norene Lindsey of Whatley and the sister of Susan Drinkard of Thomasville.
