Girl Scout cookie pre-orders begin

Pre-orders for Girl Scout cookies in 2008 begin Jan. 11 and run through Jan. 27. Cookie deliveries will be made from Feb. 12 to 16.

Booth sales in Clarke County will run from Feb. 17 to March 16. Scouts will be selling cookies in front of grocery stores and retail shops.

Cookie flavors this year include Thin Mints, Samoas, All Abouts, Do-Si-Dos, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Lemon Chalet Cremes and Sugar-free Chocolate Chip cookies.

Proceeds from the cookie sales benefit troops in Clarke County. Individual scouts may use money to pay for a trip, put toward resident camp fees or donate to a local charity.

The Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama include scouts from Clarke County.
