A bell ringing success

Dear Editor:

Thank you for another successful year of Salvation Army Bell Ringing! All of the hundreds of volunteers worked hard and exceeded our goal. Giving was down nationwide, but the generous giving of the people in Clarke County and surrounding areas was awesome. We received well over $50,000, which was our goal. It reminds me of Ephesians 3:20 which says, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us."

This generous giving will allow more people to receive help than ever before. Our slogan is "Doing the Most Good" and this is what we are all about.

We especially thank the businesses, which allowed us to stand in front to ring. They are Wal-Mart, Norman's Super Foods, Dirt Cheap, Goody's, Dunn's Exxon, Fast Track, Pic-NSave and Walgreen's.

A special thanks is also extended to our school students who participated in such a generous way. We also appreciate the publicity of the media. They did a super job of coverage this year.
