LOCAL FIREMEN BUSY

The Grove Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded to three fires last week. There was a fire the afternoon of Jan. 2 on the outside wall of the home of Bruce Etheridge at 287 North Church Street (top). The cause of the fire was unknown. Firefighters responded at 6:17 p.m. the same day to a fire at the residence of Kadisha Sadiq at 315 West Cobb Street (left), where a wall caught fire from a wood heater flue. In addition, an electrical fire occurred Jan. 3 at Robin Dial's trailer at 824 Love Road. The call came into E-911 at 9:13 p.m. Photos by Barry H. Hendrix and Jim Cox
