Lady Bulldogs drop tight game against McIntosh

The Lady Bulldogs of Clarke County High School fought hard but lost 64-54 to the Lady Demons of McIntosh last Saturday night in McIntosh.

McIntosh, winners of the last two Class 1A championships, last lost a game on Feb. 1, 2006 to CCHS.

The Lady Bulldogs drew as close as six points in the contest.

Erica Moore had a triple-double to lead CCHS. She had 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Keshia Coats added 16 points and six rebounds. Ebony Hughes had 14 points and eight rebounds. Kiara Gildersleeve added six points, five rebounds and three steals.

Last Friday night CCHS beat Mobile Christian 59-31 in Grove Hill to take a 1-0 area lead.

Moore again led the way as she scored 21 points, grabbed eight rebounds, had four steals and three assists. Hughes had 14 points, four rebounds and three steals. Gildersleeve had seven points and seven rebounds. MeMe Martin scored six points and four rebounds.

Tuesday night CCHS played Washington County with a chance to go to 2-0 in area play.

The results from that game will be in next week's Democrat.
