New CM Gas headquarters could be ready by late February
By Kathryn F. Pickard News Reporter

The Clarke-Mobile Counties Gas Board meeting was held Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 22.

Manager Tommy Horsley reported that construction of the new office building in Jackson was taking shape and it is possible they will begin to move in at the end of February.

Work is progressing on the Bates Creek and Roberts Branch projects as well as a relocation project on Highway 180 in Orange Beach.

The relocation project at ThyssenKrupp has been let and is proceeding. The land has been acquired to tie in the gas lines once the relocation is complete.

CMC Gas sent a final proposal to ThyssenKrupp for supplying the plant with gas. Manager Al Bean reported they had received a reply and ThyssenKrupp would contact them in February.
