Students participates in UAB Honor Band

Aaron Gregory and Jennifer Henderson Contributed Photo
Eighth grader, Aaron Gregory and seventh grader, Jennifer Henderson recently participated in the University of Alabama Birmingham Middle School Honor Band.

The Honor Band Festival invites the best and brightest band students from across the state of Alabama for three days of intensive rehearsals culminating in a band concert to which the public is invited.

These students were selected based on the honors and awards they have earned through participating in the Alabama State Solo and Ensemble Festival and the recommendation of their band director, Cheryl Clarke.

Aaron has played the trumpet for four years and is the son of Bryan and Lucinda Gregory of Grove Hill.

Jenny is a third year clarinetist and is the daughter of Joe and Renea Henderson of Coffeeville.

Eighth grader, Cameron Calhoun (who also plays trumpet) was selected as a UAB Honor Band alternate. Cameron is the son of Janice C. Tucker. WHMS is very proud of all these students and their accomplishments.
