Snow falls on south Alabama
Snowfall totals
The Nicholsville Baptist Church just across the north Clarke County line in Marengo County looks like a picture postcard after Saturday's rare snowfall. Thomas Kase Black made the photo. Grove Hill received only a light dusting of snow but Coffeeville, Thomasville and other areas to the north and west received significantly more. Law enforcement officers and volunteer firemen were busy with a few accidents on the icy roadways and Highways 69, 154 and county roads north of Highway 84 were closed for a time Saturday. Temperatures were in the low 20s Sunday and Monday mornings.
