Johnson

Agee Johnson Sr., 90, of the Ebenezer community died Jan. 15, 2008 at Infirmary West Hospital in Mobile.

He was born Oct. 31, 1917 to the parentage of the late Annanias Johnson and Elmira Carriesanda Brown Johnson. He was a life-long member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He retired after working many years as a cook on the dredge boat, Congoria.

Survivors include five sons, Willie (Bettye) Johnson, Montgomery, Agee (Helen) Johnson Jr., Clifford (Lela) Johnson, all of Winn, Robert Lee (Debra) Johnson, Jackson, Nelson (Lanese) Johnson, Mobile; seven daughters, Ethel Mae (Frank) Morrissette, Marsena (Charlie) Pugh, all of Winn, Rosa Mae (Marvin) Robinson, Jackson, Annie Doris (Dr. David) Franklin, Plymouth, N.C., Mary Ellen Ellis, Bowie, MD, Myra (Johnnie) Brown, Mobile, Joneen Morris, Houston, Texas; 61 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Reaner Howze Johnson; two sisters, Elmira Johnson, Thelma Pullom and one brother, Phillip Johnson.

The service was Jan. 19 at 12 noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Ridgeway officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home of Jackson directed.

Active pallbearers were his grandsons.
