Jackson Police report thefts/drug arrest

The Jackson Police Department received several reports of thefts during the past week.

Several power tools, valued at $1,600, were reported stolen from the bed of a pickup truck while it was parked at HealthActions between the hours of 8:15-11 a.m., Jan. 24.

According to police reports, the items reported missing included a cordless drill, nail driver, circular saw, brad driver and recipricating saw.

A theft from a storage unit at K & K Storage on Carroll Street was reported on Jan. 25. According to police reports, $1,700 worth of electronics, including video games and a 32- inch high definition television were reported stolen.

Juvenile arrested for drugs

According to Chief Charles Burge, the police department received a call around 8:32 p.m., Jan. 25, from a business owner in the 1100 block of College Avenue that four suspicious males were hanging around the building.

Officers Sam Aikens, Jason Thomas, Norman "Buzzy" Jordan and Rudy O'Neal responded. One of the subjects, a 17-year-old male, was found to be in possession of what appeared to be a small amount of marijuana. He was placed under arrest and charged with second degree possession of
