Judicial Inquiry Commission files 60-count complaint against Judge DuBose

Circuit Judge Stuart DuBose has been charged with 60 counts of violations of the Alabama Canons of Judicial Ethics in a complaint filed Thursday, Jan. 31 by the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission with the Alabama Court of the Judiciary, a special judicial panel that hears complaints against judges.

The formal 113-page complaint, similar to an indictment issued by a grand jury, means that DuBose is suspended from the bench with pay pending a decision by the court as to his guilt or innocence.

The complaint alleges instances of ignoring judicial orders and authority, misuse of office and other inappropriate action and activities.

The complaint records extreme profanity and obscenities allegedly attributed to Judge DuBose.
DuBose denied the allegations but the commission ruled that his denials were contrary to the evidence that had been presented.
