Steadham named 'Hospital Hero'

Emily Steadham, administrative assistant at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital, was named one of the regional "Hospital Heroes" Jan. 10 at a luncheon at the University of South Alabama in Mobile sponsored by the Southwest Alabama Regional Hospital Council (SARHC) of the Alabama Hospital Association. The award is an effort to honor the dedication of hospital employees and highlight health careers. A banquet will be held this month to announce 10 statewide heroes from among the regional honorees. Steadham (center) is shown above with Doug Sewell (right), Grove Hill hospital CEO. She was presented the award by Howard Holcomb (left), SARHC president. "She is a phenomenal ambassador for our facility," Sewell said. "She has made it her business to diversify her talents so that she can support the hospital in many ways," from working with physicians on their on-call schedule in the emergency room to scrubbing for an emergency C-section. Steadham also serves as president of the local Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Clarke County Junior Miss Committee. Contributed Photo
