Gill

John D. Gill, 77, of Walker Springs died Jan. 29, 2008 in an area health care facility.

He was born Feb. 13, 1930. He was a

member and deacon

of Forest Avenue Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had worked as a salesman for Cedar Ridge Mobile Homes.

Survivors include his wife, Eloise E. Gill, Walker Springs; two sons, Darren (Nancy) Gill, David (Jeannie) Gill, all of Walker Springs; two daughters, Myra (Craig) Smith, Orlando, Fla., Bunnie (David) Lazenby, Monroeville; one sister, Peggy Bracken, Brewton; nine grandchildren.

The service was Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson with Revs. Don Rushing and E. C. Russell officiating. Burial was in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.

Active pallbearers were Jeff Creel, Dick Creel, Danny Gill, John Brackin, Ashley Milstead, Mickey Arnold, Jack Greer and Dixon Greer.

Honorary pallbearers were Mens III Sunday School Class and prayer group, deacons of Forest Avenue Baptist Church, Jimmy Jones, Prescott Family and staff of Cedar Ridge Mobile Homes, Lloyd Harvison, Carl Gwin, Leroy Whited and Gray Milstead.
