Armstead

Ola Mae Armstead, 75, of Toledo, Ohio died Jan. 14, 2008 at her residence.

She was born Sept. 16, 1932 in Grove Hill to Emma Nobles and Clarence Martin. She married Tommie James

Armstead on Sept.

6, 1948 in Mississippi. She had four sons and a daughter. In 1997 she became an active member of the Anchor Missionary AnaBaptist Church. She worked several different jobs before working at the Lion Store (Dillard's Distribution Center) in the "mark-up room" where she was a hanger and distributor, retiring in 1992. She was a avid traveler who was always looking for her next adventure.

Survivors include four sons, John M. Armstead Sr., Jesse (Dorothy) Armstead, Frank Armstead, James Armstead, all of Toledo, Ohio; one daughter, Eleanor Armstead (Eugene) Rocker; two brothers, Robert Love, Toledo, Ohio, Calvin "Bobby" (Deborah) Love, Hinesville, Ga.; five sisters, Willow Coates, Alisha Lynn Bernard, both of Grove Hill, Earlean Grey, Toledo, Ohio, Cora Mae Love, Mt. Vernon, Jeannette Robinson, Hammond, La.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tommie James Armstead and four brothers.

The service was Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. at the C. Brown Funeral Home Inc. Chapel of Toledo, Ohio with pastor Eugene Rocker officiating. Burial was in the Forest Cemetery in Toledo.

Active pallbearers were John M. Armstead, Jesse J. Armstead, James Armstead, Eric Burt and Frank J. Armstead.

Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons.
