Rodgers indicted for causing sister's death

An Evergreen man was indicted by the grand jury in Clarke County Circuit Court for causing the death of his sister.

According to the indictment, Richard Keith Rodgers was operating a vehicle in a reckless manner, under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance or a combination of the two.

Rodgers wrecked the vehicle in which his sister, Donna Rodgers was a passenger, and she was killed May 5, 2007. The accident occurred on Chestang Hill in Jackson.

Several people were indicted for attempted murder.

David Lee Ervin is charged with trying to shoot Jamesin Rich with a .40 caliber weapon on May 20, 2007. He is also charged with unlawful distribution/furnishing of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, second degree.

Herbert Earl Frankum Jr. was indicted for allegedly firing a .357 magnum at James Bradford Sept. 21, 2007.

Robert Kenta Taylor is charged with shooting at Willard Foxx on Sept. 13, 2007.

Cleo Ray Barnett, felony DUI, driving while license revoked, no plainly visible tag.

Al Benjamin Jr., burglary, first degree, possession of forged instrument, second degree, receiving stolen property, third degree.

Gabriel Bernard, two counts possession of controlled substance.

Stacey Sinclair Boykin, possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, first degree, display of invalid insurance, reckless driving, driving while license revoked.

Patricia Ann Bradley, attempt to possess a controlled substance.

Melissa Diane Braggs, theft of property, second degree.

Christopher Lasha Brock, possession of controlled substance.

Randall Burks, felony DUI, leaving scene of an accident, driving while license revoked, operating a vehicle without insurance, failure to stop at stop sign.

Willie Bush, firearm possession/ sale, possession of marijuana, second degree.

Michael Wayne Carpenter, possession of controlled substance.

Henry E. Carstarphen, distribution/ sale of drugs to minor, possession of marijuana, first degree.

Derek Sherod Chestang, possession of marijuana, first degree, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, improper tag, operating a vehicle without insurance.

Tommie Lee Chestnut, possession of marijuana, first degree, use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
