CPS seventh graders take ACT exam

Two Clarke Prep School seventh graders are taking part in a special program that allowed them to take the Amercian College Test (ACT) along with the various high school students in the area. On Feb 9 Katie Newton and Daniel Harrison joined high schoolage students at Alabama Southern in Thomasville to take the test that determines if a student will be admitted to college. They were eligible to take the test because they had scored in the 95 percent range in the nation on their SAT test. It is part of the Duke University Talent Indentification Program. These two will be able to continue in this program through the 10th grade and be able to continue to take the test as well. The ACT is usually taken by high school students beginning their junior year. Katie is the daughter of Tracy and Amanda Newton of Grove Hill. Daniel is the son of Ricky and Denise Harrison of Thomasville.
