Con artists hit Whatley Monday

      The Clarke County Sheriff's Department is asking local residents to be on the lookout for two con artists who took money from a Whatley residence Monday. According to the victim, a man came to her door and told her he was with the government and was measuring homes to be repaired.

New parks and recreation director introduced to Jackson City Council

Pond project a dream for T'ville park

      A small pond at Gates Drive Park could be one of the next projects on the list for the City of Thomasville. Mayor Sheldon Day said Monday he is interested in investigating the possibility of creating a small lake or pond at the park near the pavilion.

Boltons unhurt but camper demolished
      Don and Vera Bolton of Grove Hill were not injured Tuesday when a predawn storm blew throough Roland Cooper State Park near Camden but the camper they were in was hit and demolished by a falling pine tree and their van parked nearby was also damaged.
