New Home leap

New Home Baptist Church will have a leap year singing Friday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. featuring New Direction, Grateful Heart, Condie Browning, Faron McKinley, Kenny Lee, and The Old Timers with Rev. Kenneth Johnson. The Ladies of Woodlawn Methodist Church will be having a cake auction. Admission is free. There will be a love offering taken and all proceeds from the offering and cake auction will go toward the future singings at New Home which is located between Repton and Monroeville just off Highway 84 north.

The St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the 15th year anniversary of its pastor, Matthew Davis and Sister Geraldine Davis Sunday, March 2 at 2:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor of the St. James A.M.E. Church of Jackson and his congregation.

Sunflower to

honor pastor

Sunflower AOH Church of God located on McFadden Street in Thomasville will honor pastor, Elder Samuel L. Calhoun Saturday, March 29 at 6 p.m. This will be a one night affair.

The church will celebrate Calhoun's 38 years of preaching, 24 years of singing and his 72nd birthday.

The special guest will be Rev. Hubert (Hubie) Baker and the Believers of Mobile. Other invited groups are: Spiritual Kings of Dixons Mills, Humble Spirits, Central Gospel Singers and the Life Tech Gospel Group, all of Thomasville. Master of Ceremony will be Winfred Holt of Thomasville.

Tri County Egg Hunt planned

Jackson First Assembly of God will host the annual Tri County's Largest Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 15 at 10 a.m. Free Coke and popcorn will be available for all kids.

Over 4,000 eggs will be hidden with three grand prize eggs per age division (there will be three age divisions). 0-3 years of age - $25, tricycle and battery powered motorcycle, 4-7 years of age - $25, bicycle and Ipod and 8- 11/Sixth grade - $25, bicycle and Ipod.

First Assembly is located on Highway 69 across from the National Guard Armory.

building

Church of Jesus Christ would like to announce to the Grove Hill and Thomasville areas the beginning of a new church, the Church of Jesus Christ. At the present time members are seeking a building to hold its services in. One of the ministers who lives in Thomasville has opened his home for Bible studies or home services.
