Boltons unhurt but camper demolished

Don and Vera Bolton of Grove Hill were not injured Tuesday when a predawn storm blew throough Roland Cooper State Park near Camden but the camper they were in was hit and demolished by a falling pine tree and their van parked nearby was also damaged.

The Progressive Era newspaper of Camden reported the news in its Wednesday edition.

The straight line winds were estimated to have been as high as 70 mph and trees throughout the park were topped or pushed over by the storm.

The Boltons are avid campers and frequent visitors to the Wilcox County park.
