Cox

Peggy Arlene Cox, 72, of Leroy died Feb. 23, 2008 at an area health care facility.

She was born Oct. 9, 1935. She was a native of Plateau. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Leroy. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a greeter at Wal-Mart.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Cox, Leroy; one son, Albert Cox, Illinois; four daughters, Debbie McIntyre, Linda Gardner, Kelly Estes, all of Leroy, Carmen Grantham, Wagarville; four brothers, Jimmie Brown, Bay Minette, Jackie Brown, Saraland, Butch Brown, Citronelle, Tommy Brown, Malcolm; three sisters, Melva Long, Satsuma, Bobbie Jean Lind, Saraland, Jerry Freeman, Beaumont, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

The service was Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Leroy with Rev. James Watkins officiating.

Burial was in the New Leroy Baptist Church Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.

Active pallbearers were Jim Bob Spence, Michael Spence, Jude Dearmon, Allen Estes, William McIntyre and Greg Cox.

Honorary pallbearers were Fletcher Cox, John Cox, Tony Cox, Don McIntyre, David Morris and Jeff Joiner.
