CCHS has the best of the best This month has been a rewarding one for many at CCHS. The boys' basketball team made it all the way to Birmingham, Ottis Jackson received an athletic award, and 18 students will be competing in 12 different FBLA state competitions in Birmingham. Just in case you have been cut off from society, our boys' basketball team made it all the way to state! The Bulldogs played a tough game against Madison Academy, taking the number two spot in 3A basketball. We are all proud of our guys and all of the hard work that they have put forth this season. Congratulations Bulldogs! Ottis Jackson was selected as a regional winner of the Bryant- Jordan Student-Athlete Scholarship. That means that Ottis has already received $1,500 in scholarships, with an opportunity to win thousands more if he is chosen for other awards. He will be honored April 14 with a banquet along with the other region winners at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and at the Sheraton Hotel Ballroom in Birmingham. Congratulations, Ottis, on this great honor! Twenty-three FBLA members will be traveling to Birmingham April 17 to compete in statewide competitions. Eighteen students will be competing in the two day conference.
Thirteen of those 18 placed in the top 14 in the Southern Region. The Southern Region includes schools in Mobile, Baldwin, Washington, Clarke, and Monroe counties. Congratulations FBLA members, and good luck next month!
