Stuart

Winston Lambert Stuart, 68, of Marianna, Fla. died Feb. 29, 2008 at his residence.

He was born April 5, 1939 in Jackson. He graduated from Moore Academy in Pine Apple, received an A.S. degree from Marion Military Institute and received a B.S. in Biology from the University of West Alabama (Livingston State University). He excelled in medical sales for 10 years with Medtronic in Birmingham.

He married Virginia "Gina" Connor of Marianna on June 12, 1965. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marianna. He served as deacon and was on the Columbarium Committee.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Gina" Conner Stuart; two daughters, Laurie Stuart (Allen E. II) Ward, Marianna, Fla., Elizabeth Allen Stuart (Murray) West, Malone; his mother, Jessie Allen McCorquodale Stuart, Marianna; one sister, Beverly Stuart (Henry) Vincent, Birmingham; four grandchildren; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Winston Lambert Stuart Sr., his father-in-law, Kenneth Bruce "Kay" Connor and Christine Edge, an extended family member.

The service was March 4 at 10 a.m. at the first Presbyterian Church in Marianna with Rev. Dr. Huw Christopher officiating joined by Linda Henderson (his prayer partner) and Rev. Gary French of the Southside Baptist Church of Perry, Fla. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directed.

Honorary pallbearers were Jim Burleson, Head "Toter," Clifford Henderson, Mack Watson, Alvie "Coot" Deese, Chip Williams, Ben Herring, Daun Crews, Tony Klappas, Richard Hand, William (Bill) Hightower, Thomas Brown, Elton Andreasen, Alex Lewis, Harold Donaldson, Rev. Gary French, Paul Brunold and Warren O'Shields.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Marianna, Covenant Hospice or the charity of your choice.
