Gators drop tough area contest to Cottage Hill Tues.

Despite a strong outing on the mound the Clarke Prep School Gators fell 3-1 to the Cottage Hill Warriors in an area contest Tuesday afternoon.

Starting pitcher Chad Dickinson pitched seven innings, striking out three, allowing just two hits to one walk before yielding the mound at the start of the eighth frame.

In the last inning Jason Gates (1-2) was the hard luck loser as he gave up three runs on one hit.

At the plate Dickinson hit a solo home run. Gates and Hunter Mayton each had a hit.

Clarke Prep got doubled-up on Monday as they lost 6-3 to the Patrician Saints.

Tanner Tucker (2-2) struck out six and gave up five hits in six innings of work in getting the loss.

Taylor Becton had an insidethe park home run and two RBI. Dickinson and Bishop each had two hits. Gates and Mayton both added a hit.

Last Saturday Clarke Prep lost 5-3 to Southland (GA) in the Glenwood School Border Wars tournament.

Gates (1-1) took the loss as he pitched five innings with four strikeouts and allowing three hits.

Gates was hot at the plate as he had a double, two singles and two RBI. J.D. Powell had a double and an RBI. Heath Bishop added a hit.

That same day the Gators lost 7-4 to Macon-East.

Dillon Rowell had a triple and a single. Taylor Becton had a double and a single. Bishop added a double. Powell, Mayton and Matthew Furrow each had a hit.

Dickinson (2-1) took the loss. He pitched three innings, striking out two. Rowell also pitched in the contest.

On the first day of the tournament Clarke Prep beat John Milledge (GA) 1-0

Tucker (2-1) got the win and Gates had a single and RBI.

Thursday (today) the Gators travel to Camden to play Wilcox Academy. On Friday they go to Montgomery to play Taylor- Road.
