Community Calendar Clarke County Mounted Sheriff's Posse, a non-profit organization will have its first horse show of 2008 Saturday, March 22 at 6 p.m. at the Old Arena on the Allen Walker Road in Grove Hill. Grove Hill MP showing "Passion of the Christ" Grove Hill Methodist Protestant Church will be showing "The Passion of the Christ" Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m. There will be no charge. Also, you are invited to be a part of the Singspiration Sunday, March 30 at 6 p.m. The Praise and Worship Team will be singing. Anyone who would like to come and a sing a special is welcomed. Toddtown Development Center beautillion and cotillion The Toddtown Community Development Center's Annual Beautillion and Cotillion will be Saturday, April 5. The application fee for young girls, ages 5 to 10 years old is $35. The application fee for the young men and women who are high school juniors up to college sophomores is $75. Grove Hill Arts Council photography contest slated Amateur photographers are preparing for the third annual photography contest and exhibition to be held in Grove Hill Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 at the Clarke County Museum. "Photography In Your Own Back Yard," is an event sponsored by The Arts Council of Grove Hill and the Arts Council of Thomasville to promote an interest in art through photography. Categories for photographs are people, pets, scenes, wildlife and other. The featured special category for this year is Trees of Clarke County. There are divisions for middle school, high school and adult photographers. Submissions can be made at the public libraries in Grove Hill, Thomasville, and Jackson, at the Town Hall in Coffeeville and at the Chamber of Commerce in Grove Hill. The deadline for turning in entries is April 11. General rules may be found on The Grove Hill Arts Council website, www.grovehillartscouncil.com. This event is made possible by the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment of the Arts. SWAIA to roast county mayors Southwest Alabama Improvement Association (SWAIA) will present a roast entitled, "A Celebrity Roast: Clarke County Mayors." Saturday, May 3 at 6 p.m. at the H.W. Pearce Jr. Memorial Park Assembly House in downtown Jackson. The Honorable U.S. Congressman Artur Davis will serve as the Toastmaster.
