St. James worship

St. James A.M.E. Church of Jackson will have worship service entitled Remembering the Seven Statements of Jesus on the Cross beginning Friday, March 21 at 7 p.m. the speakers are Rev. Terry Hunt, pastor of Miracle of Faith of Jackson, Rev. Ivory James, pastor of Greater New Hope A.M.E. of Millry, Rev. Tyrone Pouge, associate minister of Little Burrah Baptist of Jackson, Rev. Clayton Davis, pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church of Jackson and St. John Baptist of Gainestown, Rev. Kevin Boykin, pastor of New St. Matthew Baptist of Jackson, Rev. Pete Rocker, associate minister of New Canaan Baptist of Choctaw Bluff, Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor of St. James A.M.E. of Jackson.

Friendship cemetery working

Friendship Baptist Church located off Highway 154 will have a cemetery working Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. Anyone who has family buried there is encouraged to come out and help.

Free Mission Easter Egg Hunt

The Free Mission District Association will have an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 22 from 12 noon until 3 p.m. at Moderator Tommie Moore's farm on Prestwick Road in Leroy. Wilson Chapel Easter services

Wilson Chapel A.M.E. Church is sponsoring an Easter Egg hunt Saturday, March 22 at 5 p.m. at the church.

Easter sunrise service will be Sunday, March 23 at 6 a.m. followed by breakfast and Sunday school at the Wilson Chapel A.M.E. Church Rev. Levi Marshall is the pastor.

James Chapel choir anniversary

James Chapel Baptist Church of Barlow Bend will have its choir anniversary Saturday, March 22 at 7 p.m. Words of encouragement will be by Rev. Brian Chapman, pastor of Vernon Chapel Baptist Church. Sis. Kathy Bryant is the clerk, Deacon Calvin Jackson is the secretary and Rev. Osbry Millender is the pastor.

Asbury gospel singing

Asbury Baptist Church will have a gospel singing Saturday, March 22 at 7 p.m. featuring Dixie Echoes.

Center Point Easter services

Center Point Baptist Church will meet Sunday, March 23 at 10:45 a.m. in the cemetery for service and at 11 a.m. for the worship service. The singing will be led by Howard Bennett of Mississippi. Lunch will follow and an Easter egg hunt will be held for the little ones. Rev. David Jones is the pastor.

Orange Hill Women's Day

Orange Hill Baptist Church will host its annual Women's Day program Sunday, March 23 at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Pastor Melinda Kelley of The Word of Truth Fellowship of Jackson. Deacon A.J. Pritchett is the clerk. Rev. James Barren is the pastor.

Peniel Baptist Easter

Peniel Baptist Church located at 1730 McVay Road of Jackson will have its Easter sunrise service Sunday, March 23 at 7 a.m. There will be no evening service. Rev. Shannon Moses is the pastor.

Spencer Chapel Easter services

Spencer Chapel A.M.E. Church of Fulton will have its sunrise service Sunday, March 23 at 6 a.m. Breakfast will be served after the service and program. Rev. W.T. Lesueur is the pastor and presiding elder.

Bashan Baptist sunrise service

Bashan Baptist Church will have its Easter sunrise service Sunday, March 23 at 6:30 a.m. in the cemetery beside the church. After the sunrise service breakfast will be in the fellowship hall. Sunday school and worship services will be at the regular times at 10 and 11 a.m. There will be no evening service. Rev. Jimmy Simpkins is the pastor.

Oak Grove Easter sunrise

Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Chilton community will have a sunrise service Easter Sunday, March 23 at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast and morning worship at 8:30 a.m. Rev. Morris Hill is the pastor.

Mt. Gilead Youth Day, revival

Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Carlton will host its annual Youth Day Sunday, March 23 at 11 a.m. Revival will begin Monday, March 24 through Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m. The evangelist will be Bryant Chapman. Rev. L.E. Bush is the pastor.

Indian Ridge revival

Indian Ridge Baptist Church will have its spring revival Monday, March 24 through Wednesday, March 26 at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Derrick Pernell, pastor of the Morning Star Baptist Church of Whatley will be the evangelist for the week. All churches are invited to attend.

Wilson Chapel SAC luncheon

The Young People's Division (YPD) of Wilson Chapel A.M.E Church is hosting a SAC Luncheon (Success Through Godly Attitudes and Christian Character), Wednesday, March 24 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. for students of all ages. Wedia Love is the YPD director. Rev. Levi H. Marshall is the pastor.

Mt. Zion spring revival

Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church will be in spring revival Wednesday, March 26 through Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m. nightly. The evangelist for the week will be Rev. J.S. Wilkes (former pastor of the New Greater First Baptist Church of Thomasville). Teresa Coates is the clerk. Rev. Cory J. Pruitt is the pastor.

Mackey Branch Youth Revival

Mackey Branch #2 Baptist Church will have a youth revival beginning Wednesday, March 26 through Friday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Rev. Alphonso Brown will be the speaker for the week. Ethel Evans is the secretary. Rev. Dave Adams Jr. is the pastor.

Oak Grove singing

Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Chilton community will hold a fifth Saturday night singing March 29 at 7 p.m. Local singers will be featured, Good News of Grove Hill along with area churches. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Pastor Morris Hill invites everyone to attend.

Sunflower to honor pastor

Sunflower AOH Church of God located on McFadden Street in Thomasville will honor pastor, Elder Samuel L. Calhoun Saturday, March 29 at 6 p.m. This will be a one night affair. The church will celebrate Calhoun's 38 years of preaching, 24 years of singing and his 72nd birthday. The special guest will be Rev. Hubert (Hubie) Baker and the Believers of Mobile. Other invited groups are: Spiritual Kings of Dixons Mills, Humble Spirits, Central Gospel Singers and the Life Tech Gospel Group, all of Thomasville. Master of Ceremony will be Winfred Holt of Thomasville.
