The last PTA program for this school year was held Tuesday, March 4. A good crowd was on hand to enjoy a night of entertainment and support our PTA.

They had an outstanding program titled "What We All Need" by our Kindergarten students.

PTA officers were installed for the 2008-09 school year. Jerome Merida, President; Amy Newton, Vice President; Wendy Chaney, Secretary and Ellen Pettis, Treasurer will serve as officers. It was a great way to end such a successful year in PTA!

PTA stands for Parent-Teacher Association - PTA is an association of parents and teachers working together for the betterment of the students within the school. The mission of the PTA is to speak on behalf of the students in our schools to those groups that make decisions affecting children, to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children and to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools.

GHES is thankful that our community feels that it is so important to not only be a member of the PTA but to participate in the meetings and the activities. The school staff continues to believe that being involved encourages a closer relationship between the school and the home.
