CCHS plays tough against Lady Bears

The Clarke County High School Lady Bulldogs saw their furious comeback slip away as they lost 6-5 to the Lady Bears of Leroy High School Monday afternoon.

After falling behind, CCHS came back to tie the game in the last inning before LHS scored the winner in the end.

MeMe Martin went 2-for-3. Hannah Barnes was 1-for-3 with a 2-run homer. Ayesha Dickinson and Halie Moore each had a hit and an RBI. Brittney Harvell and Brittney Dunson each added a hit. Kenya Horn had two stolen bases.

Ericka Williams (2-3) gave up four earned runs and struck out four in taking the loss.

Last Thursday the Lady Bulldogs went to Thomasville and lost 7-0 to the Lady Tigers.Martin and Dunson had the two hits for CCHS.

Clarke County played Jackson Tuesday. They host Excel on Thursday (today) in the their first game at the Gerald Stephens Sports Complex.

They then will be off until April 1 when they host Choctaw County.
