C'ville highly represented in United Way's corporate awards division

Contributing to the Clarke County United Way in 2007 were a number of businesses and individuals.

Community Leader Top Giver Awards included the top 15 highest giving organizations ranked by total contributions. They are: Boise Cascade Corporation, Thomas L. Turner Charitable Trust, Merchants Bank, United Parcel Service, VF Intimates, Clarke County Commission, Clarke Mobile Gas District, City of Thomasville, Liberty National Insurance, Clarke County ARC, Clarke Washington Electric, Acceptance Loan, Thomasville Elementary School, City of Jackson and the Clarke County Board of Education.

Corporate Campaign Awards recognized organizations giving corporate gifts: Acceptance Loan, Boise Cascade, Bumpers Management, Cedar Point Baptist Church, The Clarke County Democrat, Clarke County People First, Clarke-Mobile Gas District, Clarke Washington Electric, Coffeeville Beautification Club, Coffeeville Dairy Bar, Coffeeville Ladies League, Deas Insurance Company, Dunn's Exxon, First United Security Bank, Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, Guy's Taxidermy Shop, Harrison and Harrison Insurance, Health Actions, Hicks Masonry, Jordan Oil Company, Liberty Building Products, Liberty National Insurance, McCorquodale and McCorquodale, Merchants Bank, Mosley Funeral Home, New Union Baptist Church, Shields Feed & Supply, the Country Goose, The South Alabamian, Turner Charitable Trust, Union Baptist Church, VF Intimates, Village Pharmacy.

It should be noted that of the above 33 businesses, churches and other organizations, 13 are from Coffeeville or the Coffeeville area.

Employee Excellence Awards recognized employee workplace group contributions of $50 per capita: Acceptance Loan, Boise Cascade, City of Jackson, Clarke County ARC, Clarke County Board of Education, Clarke County Commission, Clarke Washington Electric, Health Actions, Jackson Intermediate School, Liberty National Insurance, Merchants Bank, Thomasville Elementary School, Thomasville High School, Thomasville Middle School, United Parcel Service and VF Intimates.
