Letter to the Editor
Hippy work in Clarke praised

Dear Editor,

After visiting the Clarke County HIPPY Program on March 11-12, 2008, I felt compelled to write this letter to you and your reading audience in Clarke County.

As a National Trainer for HIPPY USA, it was indeed a remarkable pleasure visiting this site which has exemplified excellent effort in starting a new HIPPY program. As a trainer for many years, I have never seen the tremendous accomplishments of a new program like the ones that have occurred in the Clarke County HIPPY Program.

The coordinator, Jane Sellers, has trained her staff in a way that the average person takes many years to accomplish. She and the staff are to be highly commended for their efforts in working with the families in your county.

As we conducted two home visits with the families, I was able to also see the commitment of the families working with their child to prepare them for entering into the local school district academically ready. Your community should feel very proud having an exemplary HIPPY Program, which is due to the dedicated staff and the excellent community support that exists in your community.

I look forward to visiting the program again, and hopefully it will expand to serve every child that is in need in the community.

Gail V. Jones National HIPPY Trainer
