'Jaws' needed to free wreck victim on Allen Walker Rd.

A head-on collision between a 2003 Chevy pickup truck and a 2000 Chevy Malibu Tuesday afternoon on Allen Walker Road required the "Jaws of Life" to free a victim. The accident occurred at 4:35 p.m., according to State Troopers. First responders from the Grove Hill and Helwestern Volunteer Fire Departments removed the severely injured driver, Pirscilla Williams, 31, of Gainestown, from the car. The driver of the truck, Kevin Averette of Grove Hill, was not injured. The injured driver was airlifted by LifeFlight helicopter to the University of South Alabama Hospital in Mobile.
