Charlie Earl Staten, 75, of Magnolia died March 19, 2008. He was born Oct. 6, 1932.

Survivors include one son, Charles Staten, Austin, Texas; a very devoted caregiver, Beatrice Lagroe, Magnolia; two brothers, Marvin Staten, Houston, Texas, Melvin Staten, Jennings, La; three sisters, Martha Wade, Hearne, Texas, Jewel Matthews, Big Spring, Texas, Della Chatman, Lawton, Okla.; seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 29 at Rock Springs Presbyterian Church with V.L. Hackworth Jr. officiating. Burial was in Hearne, Texas. Reese Funeral Home of Thomasville will direct.
