West Jessie Lean West, 82, of Thomasville, died March 17, 2008 at a Mobile hospital. She was born Aug. 1, 1925. She was a member of the McFadden Temple Interdenominational Church. Survivors include two sons, Abraham West Jr., Ike Lee West; five daughters, Willie D. Young, Dorothy Shamburger, Glendora West, all of Thomasville, Goldie Blanks, Geraldine James, both of Mobile; one sister, Bernice Smith, Thomasville; 27 grandchildren; a number of greatgrandchildren; and many greatgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham West Sr., two children, five brothers and three sisters. The service was March 22 at 1 p.m. at the Thomasville Church of God in Christ. Burial was in the Thomasville Church of God in Christ Cemetery. Reese Funeral Home of Thomasville directed. Active pallbearers were Christopher James, Troy Blanks, Timothy Harris, Ronal Tolbert, Cecil West, Paul James, Charles Harris, Patrick Smith, Kenneth Harris, Jerry Shamburger and Brian Shamburger.
Honorary pallbearers were Fred Casson and Shamus Stallworth.
