Gators beat Morgan in Selma
Three Gator hurlers combined to hold off the Senators with Tanner Tucker getting the start, followed by Dillion Rowell and Taylor Becton. The three gave up 12 hits while striking out 10. At the plate Chad Dickinson had a double, two singles and three RBI. Becton had a triple, a single and two RBI. Jason Gates had two hits and three RBI. Heath Bishop had a triple and two RBI. Tucker had a hit and an RBI. J.D. Powell had a double and an RBI. Rowell had a hit and an RBI. Hunter Mayton and Drew Harrigan each had a sacrifice and an RBI. The Gators traveled to Monroeville last Tuesday and dropped the first game of a double header 4-3. Dickinson started and went five frames, allowing four hits. Powell threw the last two innings, giving up just one hit. Tucker had a triple and two RBI to pace CPS at the plate. Rowell had a hit and an RBI. Dickinson had two hits. Bishop added a double. Becton and Harrigan each had a hit. The second game was halted in the fourth inning because of coach ejections. The matter has been appealed to the AISA and school officials are awaiting word to see if the game will be replayed or completed. MA was leading 3-2 when it was stopped. Dickinson had a hit and two RBI. Gates had a double. Tucker, Mayton and Harrigan each had a hit. Gates had thrown four innings, allowing just two hits.
The Gators will travel to Butler to play Patrician on Monday, March 31 when they return from Spring Break.
