The Clarke County High School Lady Bulldogs showed a lot of fight and grit in the first game at the new Gerald Stephens complex, but came up just short, falling 8-7 to Excel last Thursday.

CCHS pounded out 10 hits with Abbey Walker, Brittney Harvell and MeMe Martin each getting two. Halie Moore, Ericka Williams, Ayesha Dickinson and Brittney Dunson each had one hit. Martin had two RBI, while Dickinson, Dunson, Harvell and Walker each had one RBI.

Williams took the loss. Last Tuesday the Lady Bulldogs fell 9-1 to the Lady Aggies of Jackson on the road. Harvell had two hits to lead the attack. Walker, Moore and Gioia Jackson each added a hit.

Walker got the loss.

CCHS returns to action on Tuesday, April 1 when they host Choctaw County.
