The Jordan Dancers Competition company attended the Dance Makers Inc. Dance convention and seminar in Mobile on Dec. 7-9, 2007.

The Jordan Dancers are a group of students chosen to represent Jordan School of Dance and our surrounding community at dance competitions, conventions, and entertainment events.

The Dancers had the opportunity to learn new technique methods and choreography from some of the leading teachers and choreographers. Macy Jackson, Jazmine Stabler, and Dharanie Stewart all received spirit awards from Mrs. Puffie founder of the Beanie Baby Rock series, and many more children's creative movement works.

The Jordan Dancers also hosted the second annual Jordan Dancers Cancer Benefit on March 16.

Jill Coplen and Sarah Tussey served as emcees, both Mrs. Ashley's students in the Advanced Ballet class at Judson College. Emily Steadman was the guest speaker and Marice Dyess gave prayer for the Benefit.

The Gala was dedicated in the memory of Mrs. Jane Dyess and Mr. Jesse Ray Jordan. All proceeds raised will be donated to Relay for Life, which will be held April 11 in Grove Hill.
