WHMS students attend Ala. River Festival

On March 7 the fifth graders at Wilson Hall Middle School attended the Alabama River Festival at Claiborne. The students enjoyed learning about Indians that were native to this area and their way of life. Aaliyah Powell, Tony Witherspoon, Jerome Merida, Jasmine Myers, Bernardria Dickinson, Jasmine Portis, Josie Pettis and Carson Wood watched as one of the exhibitors carved a canoe out of a log. Other students participated in "stickball" games, songs and stories by Riverboat John and tribal dances by Native American groups. Contributed Photo
