McCorquodale

Thomas Ray "Smokey" McCorquodale, 83, of Jackson died March 29, 2008 at a local health care facility.

He was born Oct. 29, 1924. He

was a native of

Salitpa. He was a veteran U.S. Marine Sergeant of World War II. He as a member of McCanns United Methodist Church in Jackson. He worked as a tugboat captain for Warrior & Gulf Navigation. He was a member of his local Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Dolbear McCorquodale, Jackson; one daughter, Jane McCorquodale Harwell, Jackson; three sisters, Margaret Dunn, Silsbee, Texas, Frances Bailey, Destin, Fla., Flora Davis, Faunsdale; two grandchildren.

The service was March 31 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe McKinney officiating. Burial was in River Hill Cemetery in Salipta.
