Bulldogs beat Northside

The Clarke County High School Bulldogs completed their spring break road trip by beating eight ranked, Class 4A Northside 15-10 in Tuscaloosa last Thursday.

Jacob Horton (2-0) pitched four innings to get the win. He struck out two and walked one.

At the plate the Bulldogs banged out 20 hits with the Snell brothers leading the charge, going a combined 9-for-10 at the dish.

Adrian Snell went 5-for-5 with two double and an RBI. Rashad Snell went 4-for-5 with two RBI. Hunter Cross went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Josh Watford went 2-for- 3 with a 3-run homer, a double and four RBI. Chris Andrews went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Bubba Frazier was 2-for- 5 with an RBI. Tyler Walker and Justin Robinson each had a hit and an RBI.

The Bulldogs split a doubleheader with the top ranked team in Class 2A, American Christian, last Wednesday in Tuscaloosa.

CCHS won the second game with a 13-8 decision as Josh Watford (3-1) got the win, pitching all seven innings.

Cross went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Walker went 2- for-2 with a double. R. Snell went 2-for-4 with a double. A. Snell was 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI. J. Watford went 2-for-4 with a two RBI. Justin Robinson was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

"One of the big reasons for our recent success is the fact that out seven, eight and nine hitters have really been coming through," Coach Chris Young said.

In the first game ACA downed the Bulldogs 12-5.

Robinson went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Cross went 2-for-3 with a double. Dewayne Owens went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Walker, Watford, Frazier and A. Snell each had a hit.

Walker took the loss for CCHS.

CCHS played Andalusia in a DH on Tuesday and then on Thursday (today) they travel to Mobile to play Mobile Christian in a series that could determine the area championship.
