Clarke Prep wins four

The Clarke Prep School Lady Gators won four games in the Faith tournament this past weekend, ending the series with a 4-0 win over Central Christian of Robertsdale.

Tess Ackerman and Haley Hill each went 1-for-2 with a homer to pace the Lady Gators.

Kiley Dunagan got the win as she fanned four batters over four innings of work.

In the first game last Saturday CPS beat Cottage Hill 6-4.

Corrie Allen earned the win as she pitched all five innings. She struck out one and walked five, allowing one earned run.

Allen also had a triple, while Ackerman had a double. Jessica McKinley and Stephanie Sales each went 1-for-2.

On Friday Clarke Prep beat Patrician 7-5.

McKinley, Allen and Sales each went 1-for-2 with a double.

Ackerman was the winning pitcher, fanning four and walking five in the contest.

In the tourney opener the Lady Gators beat Macon-East 4-3 as Ackerman hit a game winning triple in the fifth frame.

Allen went 2-for-2 at the plate and got the win on the mound as she struck out six over five innings. She allowed one hit. Sales went 2-for-3.

The Lady Gators lost 5-0 on the road in Butler against Patrician on Monday.

Courtney Dunagan, McKinley and Sales each had a hit.

Allen took the loss.

This Thursday (today) the Lady Gators can strengthen a playoff spot as they host Faith in a double-header. Monday they host Morgan and Tuscaloosa in a split double-dipper.
