Jackson woman dies following wreck A Jackson woman died April 5, as the result of injuries she sustained in a wreck the day before. According to Jackson Police reports, Carol Kay Moseley, 62, was the passenger in a 1992 Dodge Dakota pickup that was rear-ended on Walker Springs Road, Friday, April 4. The incident occurred when Moseley's husband, Leeland Turner Moseley, 62, was attempting to turn onto Hi-Lo Street, when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2006 Chevrolet C-25 pickup driven by Benjamin Chad Smith, 29, of Pine Hill. According to Chief Charles Burge, both of the Moseleys sustained what appeared at the time to be non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported by ambulance to Jackson Medical Center for treatment. Mrs. Moseley was transported to a Mobile hospital later that evening. She died the next day around 11 a.m. According to investigating officer Sgt. Josh Garrett, pre-autopsy reports indicated Mrs. Moseley died from head trauma related injuries. He added that speed was not a factor in the crash. "Both vehicles were traveling at a low rate of speed," he said. According to Chief Burge, who was also at the scene, the back window of the Moseley's pickup was broken in the crash. Wreck injures one In a separate incident, a Mt. Vernon woman was injured when the vehicle in which she was a passenger collided with another vehicle at the intersection of U.S. Highway 43 and College Avenue around 7 a.m., Saturday, April 5. According to Jackson Police reports, Aramie Chapman, 78, received what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries when the 1997 Chevrolet, driven by Leon Chapman, 56, of Mt Vernon, in which she was a passenger, was struck by a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Clausell Pritchett, 54, of Jackson. Chief Charles Burge said it appeared that Pritchett was attempting to turn off U.S. 43 onto College Avenue and struck Chapman's vehicle, which was headed north on 43.
Aramie Chapman was transported to Jackson Medical Center via ambulance for treatment.
