Area students recognized at UWA Honors Day
Jennifer Agee of Thomasville was named the University Scholar in Elementary Education by the Julia Tutwiler College of Education. This award recognizes an outstanding scholar chosen by the departmental faculty based on academic performance and participation in related extracurricular activities. She is a member of Alpha Chi, Cardinal Key and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies and included in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. A senior elementary education major, she is the daughter of Sherry Overstreet. Erika Andrews of Grove Hill was recognized for her inclusion in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She was also inducted into Blue Key honor society.
Steven Davis of Grove Hill was inducted into Alpha Chi and Cardinal Key honor societies. He is also a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor society and the UWA football team. A junior engineering major, he is the son of Craig and Donna Davis. Allison Day of Thomasville was inducted into Alpha Chi and Phi Alpha Theta honor societies. A junior history major, she is the daughter of Sheldon and Carol Ann Day. Kimberly Du- Bose of Jackson was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi honor society. She is also a member of Phi Eta Sigma and Blue Key honor societies. A junior nursing major, she is the daughter of Arthur and Lula DuBose. Domoneek McCoy of Lower Peach Tree was recognized for her graduation from Leading Edge Institute, a program that empowers young college women of Alabama to face the critical issues of the state, connects them with experienced leaders and provides them with resources to use their newly developed skills in service projects.
A senior, she is the daughter of William and Grace McCoy. Andrew Parten of Thomasville was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma honor society. He was also named Phi Eta Sigma Freshman of the Year for earning the highest grade point average among new members. He is also a member of Beta Beta Beta biological honor society and the UWA baseball team.
A freshman chemistry major, he is the son of Barry and Lynette Parten.
