Taylor

Vernell Taylor, 53, of Jackson died March 31, 2008.

She was a 1973 alumna of Jackson High School. She was an employee of Stimpson's Hunting Club of Choctaw Bluff.

She was a member of St. James AME Church of Choctaw Bluff, where she served on the culinary committee, as church custodian and president of the Pastor's Aide Society.

Survivors include one daughter, Danielle Taylor Parker, Jackson; five sisters, Lorean Washington, Lillie Adams, Melesia Taylor, all of Jackson, Shirley Ann Jones, Mobile, Sandra Moore, Savannah, Ga.; five brothers, Charlie Taylor, Robert Taylor, David Taylor, Sidney Taylor, all of Jackson, Earnest Taylor, Detroit, Mich.; two grandchildren.

The service was April 5 at 12 p.m. at St. James AME Church of Choctaw Bluff. Burial was in St. James AME Church Cemetery. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
