Lots of criminal cases settled in circuit court

Settlement court for criminal cases was held in Clarke County Circuit Court in March. Judge Thomas Baxter heard cases March 12-14 and Judge Jerry L. Turner heard cases March 17-19.

Richard Keith Rodgers plead guilty to reckless murder.

He was indicted by the grand jury in January for operating a vehicle in a reckless manner which caused an accident that killed his sister Donna Rodgers.

The accident was on Chestang Hill in Jackson, May 5, 2007.

Judge Turner heard the case and Rodgers was sentenced to three years in prison and received a seven year suspended sentence and five years probation.
