CCHS Bulldogs down Citronelle 8-4

The Clarke County High School Bulldogs beat the Wildcats of Citronelle 8-4 Monday afternoon on the road to run their record to 15-10.

Hunter Cross went 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Chris Andrews was 2-for-2 with three RBI. Tyler Walker went 2- for-4 with a pair of doubles. Bubba Frazier went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Josh Watford went 1-for- 4 with a double and an RBI. Rashad Snell went 1-for-2. Justin Robinson had an RBI.

Deandre Love (3-0) earned the win in six and one-third innings of work. He allowed six hits and struck out five. Cross picked up his seventh save, striking out two in the last two-thirds of an inning of work.

Last Friday the Bulldogs split a double-header with Mobile Christian, clinching the runnerup spot in the area, playing at Bayside Academy's field in Daphne.

In the second game CCHS won 11-2.

Adrian Snell was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Andrews went 3-for-4 with an RBI. J. Watford went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Cross was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Robinson went 1- for-4 with an RBI. Duane Owens, Frazier and R. Snell each had a hit.

Robinson (3-1) went the distance to get the win. He allowed one run, four hits and struck out five.

In the first game the Bulldogs lost 7-6.

Cross was 3-for-4 with a double, grand slam homer and four RBI. Andrews went 2-for-4 with an RBI. J. Watford was 2-for-4. Frazier went 2-for-3. R. Snell was 1-for-3.

J. Watford was the hard-luck loser as he pitched all seven innings.

Last Tuesday Clarke County split with 4A Andalusia in Grove Hill.

In the second game CCHS lost 17-3.

J, Watford went 2-for-2. Andrews, Owens and R. Snell each had a hit.

In the first contest the Bulldogs won 10-7.

Walker was 3-for-3 with an RBI. Andrews went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Cross, Robinson and J. Watford each had a hit and an RBI. Owens, Zach Watford, A. Snell and R. Snell each had a hit.

Love (2-0) earned the win. He pitched six innings, allowing six hits and fanning five.

Cross struck out two in earning his sixth save.

The Bulldogs will host Excel and Sweet Water in a split double header on Friday. Next week will be the final week of the regular season and the Bulldogs will be hosting the county tournament at the end of that week when Thomasville and Jackson come calling.
