Chamber and PALS plan spring clean up Saturday The Grove Hill Area Chamber of Commerce along with Alabama PALS (People Against A Littered State) and the Clarke County Citizens Against Litter Committee will be conducting a spring clean up campaign during the month of April. This annual event was kicked off with the massive clean up on Highway 5 from Grove Hill to Thomasville. Grove Hill will host a clean up day on Saturday, April 19 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Free trash bags and gloves will be available at the chamber office for those who are picking up litter and trash. There will also be water and refreshments to those who participate. Come by the chamber that morning, sign up, and get your supplies. Call the chamber office if you would like to be assigned to a road or area to pick up trash. Volunteers are needed to pick up trash around town. Door prizes and awards will be given out to volunteers who work and turn in the necessary forms. A dumpster will be placed behind town hall from April 18 - 25 for trash and litter disposal. Please no construction debris, tires, or hazardous waste is to be put in the dumpster.
Call the chamber at 275-4188 or e-mail at grovehillcoc@tds.net if you have any questions or comments about the clean up day.
