Leadership Clarke County class graduates
The soon-to-be graduates and their guests were welcomed by Asberry Daffin of Boise, president of Leadership Clarke County. Each graduate gave an impromptu speech on what the class had meant to him or her over the length of the program. Some of the class members were asked to participate in one last class challenge led by board member Debra Wood. Afterwards, the invocation was given by board member, Marty Parker, also of Boise. The class members, guests, and board members in attendance enjoyed a meal catered by Mrs. Monette Morrison. Judy Graham, Project Manager for Alabama Power, was the keynote speaker and was introduced by board member Angie Foreman. Her speech was both humorous and motivational as she challenged each graduate to take what they had learned and to become involved. Graham is responsible for adding the youth component to the leadership Clarke County program. Presenting the diplomas and special awards for the graduates were board members Althea Thomas of Merchants Bank and Angie Foreman of Alabama Power. Special recognition were given to two students: Nichole D'Andrea and Matthew Grafton. D'Andrea won the VIP award. Grafton was recognized for being on Extreme Makeover Home Edition, which took place in Mobile, and actually had a video message to the family. The class was very proud of their "TV STAR."
